Takala and German Envoy Discuss Libya’s Political Crisis and Electoral Solutions

Tripoli: The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, along with his deputies and the council’s rapporteur, engaged in discussions with the German Special Envoy to Libya, Christian Bock, concerning the ongoing political crisis in Libya and the support for electoral solutions on Tuesday.

According to Libyan News Agency, the official meeting was attended by key figures including First Deputy Speaker Hassan Habib, Second Deputy Speaker Moussa Faraj, Rapporteur Belkacem Dabrz, German Ambassador to Libya Ralf Tarraf, and Sarah Holt, the official responsible for the Libyan file at the German Foreign Ministry. The discussions focused on the proposed UN roadmap aimed at resolving the political crisis and explored methods to advance the political process, emphasizing the importance of meeting electoral deadlines.

During the meeting, the German envoy expressed Germany’s commitment to facilitating dialogue among political parties in Libya. He acknowledged the efforts of the High Council of State in addressing the political crisis and emphasized the importance of achieving free and fair elections to fulfill the aspirations of the Libyan people for enduring stability.
