Seoul, South Korea's memory chip exports to Taiwan surged over 225 percent in the first half from a year earlier on robust demand for high-performance high bandwidth memory products sparked by the fast growth of the global artificial intelligence (AI) market, data showed Sunday. Outbound shipments of memory chips to Taiwan reached US$4.26 billion in the first six months of this year, up 225.7% from a year ago, far outperforming the country's overall increase of memory chip exports at 88.7%, according to data compiled by the industry ministry and the Korea International Trade Association.
