Tripoli: The Social Security Fund recently organized a workshop aimed at streamlining the implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. (441) of 2013, which pertains to military personnel's retirement pensions. The event specifically targeted the heads of military retirement departments across various branches, focusing on establishing a mechanism for applying the resolution to new pensions and readjusting existing ones to accommodate the approved increase. According to Libyan News Agency, Fairouz Lyas, the head of the Technical Advisory Department at the Fund, highlighted the workshop's role in enabling users to accurately complete the settlement process and calculate entitlement formulas and payable amounts. The system aims to standardize the procedures across retirement departments, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Lyas further emphasized the Social Security Fund's commitment to translating legal texts into actionable procedures that ensure justice and financial stability. She explained that the resolution applies to both active-duty military personnel and those affiliated with the armed forces, as outlined in Article Nine of the Military Retirement Law No. (43) of 1974. The workshop also focused on identifying the necessary procedures and controls for implementing the resolution, addressing potential challenges, and proposing solutions to ensure compliance with legal and practical requirements.
