Baghdad, Border Guard forces arrested (4) people accused of drug trafficking in Basra.
The Border Guard Command said in a statement: ‘al-Shalamcheh Customs Police detachments, affiliated with the Fourth Region Customs Police Directorate, seized (3) foreign travelers, and another Iraqi, and seized in their possession (2,500) narcotic pills.’
It added: “The accused and the seized items were referred to the judiciary.”
In Baquba, a security force arrested two people accused of drug trafficking in Diyala.
A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency /NINA/: ‘A force from the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Department in the Diyala Police arrested two accused of promoting narcotic substances on the outskirts of Baquba, the center of the governorate.’
He added: ‘The arrest of the accused was based on accurate intelligence information.’
