Tripoli: The head of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, met with Jeremy Berndt, the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, to discuss the progress of cooperation between the Bureau and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This dialogue was in line with the agreement established between the two entities.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting emphasized the vital role of the Audit Bureau in promoting accountability and fostering transparency in government spending. The discussion also touched on the Bureau’s independence, particularly within the framework of Libya’s oversight and technical institutions, to ensure it can effectively fulfill its responsibilities.
