Shakshak and Ben Ghdara discuss the development spending for oil sector

Tripoli – Head of the State Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak discussed ,yesterday, with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation “NOC” , Farhat Ben Ghdara, the extraordinary budget for oil sector and its impact on production rates.

The two sides discussed during the meeting that was held in the Bureau’s headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of a number of departments concerned with the Audit Bureau, the two sides discussed the fuel file, developmental spending for the oil sector, and procedures related to reviewing agreements.

Shakshak confirmed that the oil sector is of interest and follow-up by the Audit Bureau, as it is responsible for the main resource for the general budget, especially after allocating an extraordinary budget for the development of the sector, which requires continuous follow-up, stressing the need to focus on development spending and improving production rates.

With regard to the fuel file, Shakshak stressed the need to adhere to a clear policy in the operations of registration, supply and distribution, and to ensure coverage of the actual need and limit the smuggling.

Ben Ghdara stressed the NOC’s commitment to the observations and recommendations of the Audit Bureau, and his commitment to cooperate, to achieve the highest level of transparency and disclosure.

The two sides agreed to assign an international advisory office by the Bureau, to support the examination of some agreements, contracts and operations.
