SCH President to patronise international medical conference

Manama, Under the patronage of the Supreme Council of Health President, Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the international conference, “Towards Future Doctors: Innovation and Prospects”, organised by the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) in partnership with “Healthcare” company at Art Hotel and Resort in Amwaj, will kick off on Thursday.

The conference will host 12 international speakers, who will discuss the latest innovations in medical education, such as learning using advanced technology, optimal use of artificial intelligence in medical education and health, virtual reality and new dimensions of medical practices, prospects for the future of healthcare and big data management, and the future of personalised medicine and telemedicine.

Acting AGU President, Dr. Abdulrahman Yousif, said that the conference aims to inspire medical educators to adopt innovative approaches in medical education to prepare doctors for future practice.

It also discusses practical applications that deal with current and future innovations in medical education, in addition to successful models of medical practices and scientific research.

It will benefit medical educators, health care practitioners and leaders of health and medical education, he added.

Dean of the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences at AGU, Prof. Dr. Abdel Halim Dhaifallah, asserted that the conference follows the accreditation of AGU in being accredited as Health Promoting University by WHO.

The College of Medicine and Medical Sciences obtained academic accreditation from the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine: ACCM, which is based in the Republic of Ireland.
