Tripoli- The Libyan Consulate in Jeddah announced, Wednesday, that the Saudi authorities have released the Libyan citizen, Hamza Abdel Basset Al-Busaifi, whom they arrested while performing Umrah rituals on January 29.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity said in a post on its Facebook page that Al-Busaifi faced charges of cybercrime and stirring up public opinion, as the consulate contacted the Saudi authorities to release him, until its efforts were crowned with success.

The ministry indicated that this comes within the framework of concern and follow-up of the conditions of the Libyan community, Umrah performers and pilgrims to the Sacred House of God, facilitating all procedures for citizens, assisting them, and providing services and civil and social care in the country subject to accreditation.
