Tripoli: Russia’s representative to the UN Security Council emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive political process to address Libya’s ongoing crisis. The representative highlighted that the nation’s current predicament stems from deep-rooted political divisions.
According to Libyan News Agency, during a Security Council session focused on Libya, the Russian envoy pointed out that the absence of a unified consensus among Libyan factions has significantly contributed to the deterioration of the country’s security landscape.
The call to action from the Russian representative included efforts to unify Libya’s armed forces and integrate fighters into legitimate institutions, aiming to establish stability across the nation. Furthermore, it was noted that recovery strategies should not be externally imposed, as the recommendations put forth by the Advisory Committee have faced resistance from Libya’s political entities.
