Tripoli: The Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh, held a meeting today at the Authority’s office with Stephanie Khoury, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs. The meeting included several members and employees of the mission, focusing on the Authority’s role in enhancing the rationalization of public spending and supporting transparency and financial reforms.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting centered around the Authority’s annual report (53) for the year 2023, exploring its nature and objectives. Discussions also covered the technical and logistical support opportunities available with international partners. A presentation was made on the National Strategic Plan for Performance Oversight, Combating and Preventing Corruption 2025-2030, which was approved on December 9, 2024. This plan outlines implementation mechanisms for all state sectors, aiming to enhance the efficiency of oversight agencies and unify their efforts in promoting good governance and combating corruption comprehensively.
The Chairman emphasized the significance of international cooperation in promoting transparency and legal accountability. He highlighted the need for strong oversight institutions that align with the aspirations of the Libyan people for transparent management of public resources. He welcomed the contribution of international expertise in enhancing Libya’s capacity to implement effective and sustainable reforms.
