TRIPOLI: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, held discussions on the “Intilaqa” initiative aimed at supporting and financing small and micro projects. The meeting focused on the general conditions for submission and the mechanisms for benefiting from the initiative.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, which took place in Tripoli, included key government figures such as the Minister of Economy and Trade, the Acting Minister of Oil and Gas, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Commercial Affairs. Also in attendance were the Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects and the Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to streamline procedures to ensure that support reaches the maximum number of qualified young people. He highlighted that the initiative aligns with the government’s focus on empowering Libyan youth to play a significant role in driving the national economy. Investing in youth and their innovative ideas is seen as a critical investment in Libya’s future and economic revival.

The government is committed to making significant strides in the national economy by backing small projects, viewed as the foundation of economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development. The “Intilaqa” initiative is designed to provide essential funding for young people, craftsmen, and entrepreneurs, with a particular emphasis on innovation and the knowledge economy.

To facilitate this, the initiative plans to establish a new system to support start-ups, including the creation of a special guarantee fund for targeted projects. The initial phase aims to assist 1,000 young entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and innovators. It will leverage strategic partnerships with business incubators within Libyan universities to ensure effective implementation and support.
