Tripoli: Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, met with Hanna Tetteh, Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), as part of high-level consultations focused on advancing the political process towards a national settlement.
According to Libyan News Agency, Tetteh briefed Al-Lafi on her recent presentation to the UN Security Council, highlighting the proposed pillars of the roadmap and the structured dialogue tracks concerning the economy, governance, security, national reconciliation, and human rights. Tetteh emphasized the importance of developing an integrated approach involving the main political actors to address the root causes of the current political crisis, aiming for institutional reunification and stability.
The Presidential Council's media office reported that Al-Lafi underscored the necessity of a political approach rooted in a clear sovereign vision, considering Libya's complex landscape. He stressed the importance of national ownership and the genuine engagement of all parties in the political process. The Presidential Council views UN efforts as supportive within a partnership that complements the Libyan will, seeking a balanced political solution to unite Libyans and ensure the state's unity and stability.
