Presidential Council discusses with the Italian ambassador international efforts to solve the political crisis in the country

Tripoli- The President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, and the two deputies of the Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi and Moussa Al-Koni, received today, Monday, the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino.

The meeting discussed developments in the political situation in Libya, local and international efforts to resolve the political crisis in the country, and the importance of providing full support to the new UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batili, to discuss ways to complete the constitutional process between the House of Representatives and the state, and to hold elections that the Libyan people aspire to.

During the meeting, the Presidential Council stressed the importance of consensus among all parties to the political process on the basis of the constitutionality of the institution for the electoral process.

For his part, the Italian ambassador to Libya praised the efforts of the Presidential Council in bringing together the political parties, the success of the national reconciliation project, and its continuous cooperation with UN efforts and countries supporting the stability of Libya, in order to find a solution to the political crisis in the country.
