Presidential Council Decisions Require Full Consensus, Says Al-Koni

Al-koni: Member of the Libyan Presidential Council Musa Al-Koni emphasized the necessity for consensus among council members for decisions and decrees, in line with the political agreement: According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Koni highlighted the significance of this consensus in a tweet commemorating the 15th anniversary of the February 17 Revolution. In his message, he referred to the revolution as a "glorious revolution," despite acknowledging its fragmented nature. Al-Koni's statement came in light of recent decrees and decisions issued by Presidential Council head Mohammed Al-Menfi. He asserted that, according to the political framework, the authority in Libya is vested in the Presidential Council as a whole. Therefore, any decision or decree must have the consensus of all its members and be accompanied by a signed record to hold presidential legitimacy. Al-Koni stressed that individual decisions lacking this collective agreement are considered invalid.
