President of Presidential Council meets in Tripoli UN Secretary-General Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams.

Tripoli, President of the Presidential Council Mohammed Al Mnefi met Monday morning with UN Secretary-General’s advisor on Libya Stephanie Williams to discuss the latest developments in Libya’s political process and arrangements for the next electoral entitlement.

Al Mnefi welcomed Williams, wishing her success in fulfilling her mission, and continuing her previous efforts to support the political track, in accordance with the roadmap of the Libyan political dialogue, and praising the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya on the Libyan issue.

The meeting reviewed the UN mission’s efforts to coordinate international efforts to resolve the Libyan crisis, to peacefully end the transition phase, as well as the obstacles facing the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, and ways to build confidence among all parties to the political process.

During this meeting, Al Mnefi stressed Presidential Council keenness to conduct electoral entitlement, as the only solution to the Libyan crisis, and reiterated full support for the High National Election Commission for the success of this national entitlement, indicating that work will continue to unify the military, all other institutions, and to render the national reconciliation project launched by the Presidency Council a success.
