Tripoli, President of the National Union of Libyan Workers (NULW) Mohamed Abu Zeid has called for oil sector and its workers to be kept away from political wrangling, considering that oil revenues belong to the entire Libyan people and not to one rather than the other side.

Abu Zeid said, in remarks to the Libyan news agency, that oil would lead Libya to the Iraqi situation, which has created the “oil-for-food phenomenon.”

Abu Zeid called on oil workers to unite to promote the sector and its services, which would boost production and preserve the oil wealth, which still accounts for about 93 per cent of Libya’s sources of income.
