President Aoun, First Lady Depart for Key UN Engagements in New York

Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, and First Lady Nemat Aoun departed Lebanon this afternoon, heading to New York, where President Aoun will deliver Lebanon’s address before the United Nations General Assembly.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the President will hold a series of meetings with officials from various countries on the sidelines of the General Assembly regarding the situation in Lebanon and ongoing developments in the region, the repercussions of which affect all countries in the Middle East and the West.

During the visit, the President of the Republic is also expected to meet with members of the Lebanese community, where he will learn about their conditions and listen to their concerns.

Lebanese First Lady Nemat Aoun will also deliver Lebanon’s speech at the high-level meeting convened by the President of the General Assembly to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women.

The President’s accompanying official delegation includes: Foreign Affairs Minister Youssef Rajji and Lebanon’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations, Ambassador Ahmad Aarfa.
