President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday performed Eid al-Adha prayer at al-Afram mosque in al-Muhajreen neighborhood of Damascus.

Minister of Endowments, a number of senior officials, members of the People’s Assembly, Islamic scholars and citizens performed the prayer along with President al-Assad, led by Sheikh Muhammad Tawfiq Ramadan al-Bouti, Chairman of Levant Scholars’ Union ( Bilad al-Sham.)

Following the prayer, Imam al-Bouti delivered the Eid sermon affirming the noble meanings of Eid al-Adha occasion.

“This Eid differs from previous ones that it brings good signs of a better future to end a long-term suffering as our nation has lived difficult years of crises after we have lived in a welfare,” Sheikh Bouti said.

“Our homeland has suffered a lot, and its people have withstood thanks to the resilience of their leadership that withstood during the hard years,” Imam al-Bouti said, calling on those who bet on the collapse of the homeland and nation, through their hostile policies, whatsoever they are, to acknowledge that the Syrian people have taken the resilience as a decision for victory.

He prayed to God to keep Syria, its people and leadership and restore security and stability to the whole homeland.
