Presidency rejects Israel’s so-called “settlement project”, urges Palestinians to abandon it

RAMALLAH, Following a series of high-profile meetings at the level of the PLO, the Foreign Ministry and all the committees in charge of the affairs of occupied Jerusalem, the Presidency of Palestine has unanimously decided to reject and boycott the so-called “Israeli political settlement project” in occupied Jerusalem.

The Presidency urged the Palestinian people in occupied Jerusalem not to deal with the project as it constitutes a dangerous part of the Israeli colonization project which aims to finally annex the Arab part of the city into what Israel calls as “the unified capital of Israel”.

The said that a higher committee will be assigned to follow up on this serious issue in order to preserve the unified Palestinian position, and to prevent the risks arising from its implementation.

The Presidency that this dangerous project would lead to the seizure of Palestinian properties in the occupied capital under the so-called “Absentee Property Law”, which would change the city’s legal character and lead to its “Judaization”.

“East Jerusalem, with its sanctities and heritage, is the eternal capital of the State of Palestine in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and international law,” said the Presidency.
