Tripoli: The High National Elections Commission announced on Saturday the preliminary results for the municipal council elections in 26 municipalities, categorized under Group II – 2025. The elections were conducted last Saturday.
According to Libyan News Agency, the commission reported that the total number of registered voters for these municipal elections was 165,159, resulting in a participation rate of 72.41 percent. Overall, the total number of eligible voters in the municipalities reached 228,061, comprising 161,073 men and 66,988 women.
The commission detailed that several municipalities had a significant number of eligible voters listed under the fingerprint list. These municipalities include Zliten, Al-Binaa in Qasr Al-Akhyar, Maslata Al-Emar, Al-Qara Boli Ras Al-Ghazal, Souk Al-Jumaa Al-Emar, Ain Zara Wifaq Ain Zara, Abu Salim Emar Tazkia, Tripoli Center Al-Saria, Andalusia District Al-Taawun, and several others.
Furthermore, the High National Elections Commission has scheduled the period for submitting appeals against the preliminary results of the 2025 municipal council elections for Group Two. These appeals can be filed with the District Courts on the upcoming Sunday and Monday.
