Tobruk: The Electricity Company has announced a power outage impacting large areas of Tobruk, as maintenance teams have commenced repair activities.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, appointed by the House of Representatives, stated that the Al-Khuwair 66 kV power station in Tobruk went offline due to the fall of medium-voltage (11 kV) wires.
The ministry reported an additional issue with a 30 kV cable connecting the Al-Nasr neighborhood station and the Amsaid Road station. This has resulted in a power outage across a significant geographical portion of Tobruk.
The ministry assured that specialized maintenance teams have started repair operations in collaboration with the control room. Their efforts aim to gradually restore power to the affected areas and stabilize the electricity grid as soon as possible.
