The US Department of Defense / Pentagon / announced: ‘Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles targeting several sites in Israel.’
The Pentagon said: ‘US Navy destroyers launched about 10 interceptor missiles at Iranian missiles heading to Israel.’
It added: “If Iran attacks American interests, we will defend our citizens.”
The Pentagon condemned the Iranian attacks, and called on Tehran to stop any further attacks, including through its agents.
It pointed out: “Initial reports indicate that Israel intercepted most of the missiles and that the damage was minimal.”
It continued to the Pentagon: We are still assessing the attack and its results, and no American soldiers were injured during the Iranian missile attack, stressing that he had no knowledge of any warning from Iran before the attack on Israel.
