Tripoli: Representatives from the Sovereign Positions Committees of the High Council of State and the House of Representatives have signed an agreement to regulate the mechanism for selecting the head and members of the High National Elections Commission, as well as the heads of the National Anti-Corruption Authority and the Administrative Control Authority.
According to Libyan News Agency, the signing ceremony in Tripoli was attended by the UN Special Representative for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury. The agreement is seen as a step towards enhancing national consensus and finding a political solution, following a series of meetings and consultations between the two sides.
The High Council of State has stated on its official page that this agreement complements previous understandings reached by the committees, reinforcing their commitment to a collaborative political process.
