NOC and Indian Delegation Discuss Energy Sector Collaboration

Tripoli: The National Oil Corporation (NOC) recently met with an official delegation from India to explore potential cooperative efforts and investments within the energy sector. During the discussion, both parties agreed to maintain coordination in organizing a joint forum that will involve Indian companies and Libyan oil sector officials. This forum aims to identify investment opportunities that will benefit both nations. According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was hosted by the NOC in collaboration with its International Cooperation Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity. The session was chaired by NOC Board Member Ahmed Ammar, with participation from several department heads. The Indian delegation was led by Suresh Kumar, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs. Ammar began the meeting by conveying the greetings of NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman to the Indian delegation, highlighting the corporation's dedication to expanding international cooperation. He emphasized the importance of opening investment channels to foster the development of Libya's oil and gas sector. The Indian delegation expressed their government's interest in bolstering economic ties with Libya. They reiterated their commitment to involving Indian companies in oil and renewable energy projects in the region, offering necessary facilities and support for training programs. They also emphasized the importance of facilitating exchange visits to strengthen relations. The meeting concluded with a focus on maintaining coordination through official channels to ensure the successful organization of the joint forum. This initiative is expected to enhance cooperation and investment opportunities between India and Libya in the energy sector.
