Nechirvan Barzani receives an invitation to participate in the Baku Climate Change Summit

The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani received today, Monday, an official invitation to visit Azerbaijan. The Regional Presidency stated in a statement, 'The Chief of Staff of the Regional Presidency, Fawzi Hariri, received the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iraq, Nasir Mammadov.' It added, "The Azerbaijani ambassador handed to Barzani an official invitation to participate in the United Nations Climate Summit (COP29), which will begin in Baku next November." The Azerbaijani ambassador expressed his country's desire to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region, stressing that Nechirvan Barzani's visit to Baku and meeting with the Azerbaijani President opened a new page in relations between Azerbaijan and the Kurdistan Region.
