Tripoli Vice President of the Presidential Council, Moussa Al-Koni met Thursday in Tripoli with mayors of the southern region.

During the meeting, the mayors voiced the problems and difficulties that prevent provision of services to citizens in all areas, particularly the severe shortage of fuel, cooking gas and the citizens complaining of high prices on the parallel market.

Mayors have called on the Vice President to intervene to solve the problems experienced by southern Libyan cities, resulting from poor services in all areas, which are further exacerbated by the lack of radical solutions.

Al-Koni welcomed the mayors and praised their efforts to provide for the needs of citizens, and said he appreciated the hardship they endured in travelling to the capital to demand the rights of the citizens and stressed his efforts to overcome all the difficulties faced by municipalities, in coordination with the relevant authorities. The mayors of the southern region described their meeting with Al-KonI as fruitful.
