Karbala: More than five million Iraqi, Arab and foreign visitors commemorated the Ashura pilgrimage in Karbala over the past ten days until the date of the visit today, Wednesday, which will end after the Taurij Run mourning after the noon prayers. The governorate witnessed strict security measures by the formations and ranks of the Ministries of Defense and Interior, Army Aviation, Iraqi Air Force aircraft, and other security agencies, intelligence, national security and the Popular Mobilization Forces. The administration of the holy shrines and the local government, with all its departments, and with the support of the federal ministries, the Red Crescent and the Hajj and Umrah Authority, prepared service plans that were implemented since the beginning of the month of Muharram, ending on the thirteenth of it. The governorate also witnessed a visit by a number of ministers to review their ministries' plans for the million-person visit, including the Interior, Electricity, Transport and Health ministries, a long with a visit by the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi. More than 1,000 processions and Husseiniya bodies have provided services since the beginning of the month of Muharram, including various types of food, drink and accommodation for visitors.
