Ministry of Tourism Discusses Activating Libyan-Chinese Memorandum of Understanding

Tripoli: Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries Nasr al-Din al-Fazzani engaged in discussions with Chinese Charg© d’Affaires Liu Jian, focusing on several topics of mutual interest.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, which took place at the ministry’s headquarters, included a review of the memorandum of understanding established between Libya and China in 2010. The discussion centered on mechanisms for developing and reactivating the memorandum, as well as preparing an executive program for its implementation.

The dialogue also featured a presentation of over 600 Libyan tourist destinations that require marketing and promotion efforts. Additionally, the parties explored the possibility of establishing an air route between Libya and China and discussed facilitating visa procedures for Chinese citizens wishing to visit Libya.

Further discussions covered topics related to the Asian Development Bank and the Silk Road Fund. The meeting also addressed Chinese initiatives aimed at supporting various service sectors, including the tourism sector.
