Tripoli: The Ministry of Local Government engaged in discussions with the Development Fund to explore mechanisms for expediting the implementation of prefabricated housing units. Acting Minister of Local Government, Abdul Shafie Al-Juwaifi, led the talks with officials from the Economic and Social Development Fund and the Libyan Development and Investment Holding Company. The meeting, attended by relevant ministry departments, focused on targeted municipalities for the project.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting involved a detailed review of the available housing units and trailers, alongside discussions on installation and implementation strategies. Participants examined logistical and technical challenges that could potentially impede project progress. A visual presentation provided insights into the project’s design, targeted areas, and geographic locations for installation, ensuring adherence to technical standards.

An agreement was reached during the meeting regarding the distribution of tasks among the Ministry, the Development Fund, and the Holding Company. These entities will handle transportation, installation, and technical supervision, guided by a specific timetable aimed at completing the first phase as scheduled. The discussion underscored the urgency of beginning installation of the initial batch of housing units, contingent upon the Ministry’s approval of the supplier company’s timeline.

The attendees emphasized the importance of joint coordination, enhanced field efforts, and ongoing monitoring to ensure the project’s success. The focus is on maintaining momentum and addressing any challenges promptly to deliver this essential housing solution.
