Tripoli, Education Minister Musa Al Mgareif announced that schools will remain closed until Aug. 19, with exception of those in the municipalities located in the geographic region stretching from Sirte to Msa’ied and the southern municipalities.
The Minister said the decision was taken after consultation with the Ministry of Health until the stabilization of the epidemic situation in the country.
The Minister said the Ministry of Education was committed to ensure preparedness of educational institutions, provision of preventive means to complete the academic year.
A meeting will be held with the Ministry’s consultative scientific committee on next Wednesday to assess the epidemic situation for any decision to reopen schools.
