Ministry of Culture celebrates International Day of Rights of the Child and the issuance of a commemorative stamp on the occasion from the issuance of Libya’s Post.

Tripoli, Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development celebrated the International Day for Children’s Rights by organizing a celebration at the Scout Theater in Tripoli, attended by the Minister of Culture Mabrouka Toghi, the Minister of Social Affairs Wafaa Al-Kilani, the leader of the General Movement for Scouts and Girl Guides, Dr. Faraj Selim, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture Khairi Randi, and a number of civil society organizations and those interested in children’s rights, and scouts, guides and school students teams.

On the occasion, a commemorative postage stamp was signed for the occasion from the Libyan Postal issue.

The celebration, which was held under the slogan “To develop a new vision for children in Libya”, included several activities and speeches dealing with children’s rights, with the participation of Ministry of Social Affairs, the Tripoli Commission for Scouts and Guides, and civil society organizations concerned with children’s rights, and the presentation of many artistic and lyrical paragraphs expressing the occasion and special performances for children, the participation of the mobile library of the Ministry of Culture for children, and an exhibition of pictures and drawings for children.

In her speech, the Minister of Culture, Mabrouka Toghy, explained: This celebration comes within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to consolidate the culture of our society, enhance community partnership, and raise awareness of the importance of promoting attention to children and their rights to contribute to building a generation capable of shouldering responsibilities.

She added that the ministry’s plan pays attention to children’s issues and rights, and a number of events will be organized to support the culture of the child and enhance his cultural and creative abilities, the most important of which is the mobile library for children.
