The Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Dhiab, confirmed today, Saturday, that dams and reservoirs in the Kurdistan region are a vital and important part of the water system that fully serves Iraq.

A statement by the Ministry of Water Resources stated that Dhiab met on the sidelines of the third Baghdad International Water Conference, the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Bekerd Talabani, and the accompanying government delegation to discuss a number of important issues related to the water situation.

During the meeting, the minister stressed that the work of the ministries of water resources in the federal government and the region is based on cooperation and common interest, and that dams and reservoirs in the region are a vital and important part of the water system that fully serves Iraq, instructing the formation of a joint technical committee to follow up on all common files and issues.
