Minister of Transport Announces Resumption of Flights Between Libya and Malta.

Tripoli, A first flight coming from Malta arrived at Mi’tiga Inter. Airport on Monday, marking the resumption of flights between the two countries after a 2 year halt.

The Minister of Transport Mohamed Al Shuhubi, Minister of Economy Mohamed Al Huweij, the Ministry of Transport Undersecretary Khalid Al Senussi and the Ambassador of Malta were at the airport to welcome the arrival of the plane as it arrived at Mi’tiga International Airport.

Al Shuhubi announced at a joint press conference with Minister of Economy of Malta Silvio Schembri the launch of the first flight between Libya and Malta after more than a 2 year halt.

He said there will be 4 flights a week between Libya and Malta as stated by the memo signed during the visit of the Head of GNU to Malta recently.

On his part, the Maltese Minister expressed delight for resuming flights between the two countries, describing it as a step in the right direction.

‘Malta’s relationship with Libya is more than friendly, there is a lot of joint work to do together, and Malta is ready to help upgrade services in Libya, the Minister said.

He conveyed compliments of the Head of Government of Malta, saying he always represents the voice of Libyans.
