A large plant for manufacturing electric vehicles (EVs) will be established in Egypt on a 50,000-squaremeter area, in a bid to reach 'self-sufficiency' in the electric cars, announced Ayman Ashur, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in a statement on Saturday 31/8/2024. However, the Minister did not reveal where the plant will be established. The Minister added that the government is working to increase the percentage of the local components in the products.
