Tripoli, Member of the House of Representatives Abdul Gader Yahya said the House held a consultative meeting today at its headquarters in Tripoli, during which it discussed the electoral process and the steps taken by the High National Election Commission, noting that the Libyan people are waiting for this national entitlement.

“The electoral entitlement belongs to all Libyans and the House of Representatives will push for it to be held on set time,” Yahia told the Libyan news agency LANA.

For his part, Parliament member Saleh Hameh stressed the importance of sticking to the date of the elections on the set time, calling on the Commission or any party concerned with the elections to reveal, if any, the technical or other obstacles that require postponing of the vote. “The parliament does not have the right to postpone the elections, the choice of December 24 was through the Geneva Dialogue Forum, and the Parliament is with this date and strongly supports it, he said.
