Massad Boulos Highlights U.S. Commitment to Libya’s Roadmap at Arab Media Summit

Tripoli: Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the United States for Arab and African Affairs, has emphasized the critical importance of peace and stability in Libya, both for the region and globally. Boulos underscored America's support for the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) roadmap, which seeks to establish unified governance and facilitate national elections.

According to Libyan News Agency, Boulos expressed his views during his participation in the "Arab Media Summit," a platform dedicated to discussing U.S. efforts in Libya and Sudan. The event, highlighted by the U.S. State Department's social media post on Wednesday evening, provided insights into ongoing initiatives aimed at addressing the complex political landscape in Libya.

In his remarks, Boulos elaborated on the U.S.'s backing of the UNSMIL roadmap. He pointed out that this strategic plan is designed to create a cohesive governance structure and ensure the execution of national elections, aligning with broader international goals for peace.

Additionally, Boulos linked these initiatives to former U.S. President Donald Trump's approach to conflict resolution, reiterating that achieving peace and stability is not just a regional priority but a global necessity.

Turning to Sudan, Boulos also mentioned efforts to establish a humanitarian truce, facilitate the seamless delivery of aid, cease external interference, and transition toward a civilian-led government.
