Sabha: The Minister of Interior in the parliament-appointed government, Major General Essam Abu Zriba, engaged in discussions with Major General Khaled Al-Basta, the Director of Security in Sabha, focusing on cooperative strategies to address the influx of irregular migrants.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting reviewed the current security climate in Sabha and its surrounding southwestern regions. It also explored methods to strengthen coordination between the Security Directorate, the Joint Security Room, the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency, and the armed forces to mitigate illegal immigration into the country.
The Ministry’s Security Media Office reported that the discussions also covered essential measures to enhance security performance and ensure the directorate is equipped with necessary resources. Major General Abu Zriba emphasized the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to bolstering all security directorates in southern regions. He highlighted that the upcoming phase would involve more rigorous security measures to boost readiness and improve security efficiency in these critical areas.
