Tripoli: The General Electricity Company has announced the successful completion of charging and operating transformer No. (2) at the Bir al-Usta Milad power station, located east of Tripoli. This transformer, with a capacity of 220/30 kV, is back in operation after being inactive for more than five years due to technical malfunctions and a shortage of necessary spare parts.
According to Libyan News Agency, the company confirmed that the transformer’s restart was made possible after the procurement of the required spare parts. This development is part of a broader plan to rehabilitate the transmission network infrastructure and enhance the service quality for residents in the Ein Zara and Tajoura areas. These regions had previously suffered from frequent outages due to network pressure and inadequate operational capacity.
The Bir al-Usta Milad power station serves as a crucial element of the electricity transmission system, significantly contributing to the power supply of the capital and its neighboring regions. The re-operation of this transformer is expected to have a direct impact on improving the security and stability of the electricity supply, benefiting a substantial number of citizens.
