Local development min. probes cooperation with United Nations Development Program

Minister of Local Development Manal Awad and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Egypt Alessandro Fracassetti reviewed Thursday 5/9/2024 areas of joint cooperation, stressing her keenness to continue cooperation between the ministry and the United Nations Development Program as a partner of the ministry in various development fields extending back to before 2009. The meeting was attended by Mr. Guimar Dib, Deputy Resident Representative of the UNDP Office in Egypt, Dr. Heba Wafa, Director of Local Development, Social Integration and Women's Empowerment Programs at the program, and a number of the Ministry's leaders and the Ministry's technical support project team. The meeting reviewed the technical support project for the Ministry of Local Development in the field of decentralization and integrated local development, focusing on Upper Egypt, funded by the European Union and being implemented in 4 governorates: Fayoum, Beni Suef, Luxor and Aswan. Alessandro Fracasset ti stressed the importance of the crucial role played by the Ministry of Local Development in projects and initiatives in the governorates, and the program's interest in providing all necessary support regarding the presidential initiative 'Decent Life' to achieve the goals set by the Egyptian state in implementing this important initiative.
