Lieutenant General Al-Namroush Engages with Saudi Counterpart at World Defence Exhibition 2026

Riyadh: The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, met today in Riyadh with the Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Fayyad al-Ruwaili. The meeting took place during the opening of the third edition of the World Defense Show 2026 in the Saudi capital.



According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions highlighted the exhibition’s display of cutting-edge technologies, defense systems, and advanced military industries. Major international companies showcased modern weapons and equipment at this globally recognized event. Both military leaders reviewed key solutions and technologies in armament systems, surveillance, military communications, and smart platforms, emphasizing the progress in defense industries.



Lieutenant General al-Namroush commended the professional organization of the World Defense Show, noting its status as a premier international platform for defense innovations. He recognized the involvement of approximately 1,000 companies specializing in defense and security worldwide.



The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their desire for enhanced cooperation between Libya and Saudi Arabia, aiming to serve common interests and bolster regional security and stability. The Saudi Chief of Staff lauded the strong ties and cooperation between the two nations, extending well wishes for Libya’s continued prosperity and stability.
