Tripoli: The Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the work of the Underwater Research Center affiliated with the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces, inside the Tripoli Naval Base.
According to Libyan News Agency, the media office of the Chief of Staff reported that the center’s work is part of a project aimed at cleaning the docks and basin of the Tripoli Naval Base. This involves removing waste from old ships and disinfecting them, as well as cleaning the surrounding environment of harmful weeds that could potentially damage existing naval vessels.
The Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army confirmed that through these efforts, the center and the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces aim to train new national capabilities and facilitate the acquisition and transfer of expertise in diving, rescue, and managing waste from old ships at sea.
