Libyan Women’s National Day Celebrated with Emphasis on Community Leadership

Tripoli: A celebration took place on Thursday to mark Libyan Women's National Day, organized by the Al-Marsad Foundation for Community Studies in cooperation with the General Libyan Women's Union and the Libyan Women's Network. The event was held under the slogan "Women's Community Leadership: Steps Taken, Successes Achieved, and a Will to Create Change."

According to Libyan News Agency, the celebration aimed to honor the pivotal role women play in Libyan society and to reinforce national and human values. A key feature of the event was a panel discussion covering important topics such as women's roles amidst societal transformations, strengthening security and social peace, and the theme of identity and values. Additionally, a video presentation showcased the achievements of Libyan women.

During the event, several prominent women were honored for their contributions. Member of Parliament Dr. Suad Abdullah Al-Shali received recognition for her role in community service, her support for women's issues, and her dedication to humanitarian work. She was awarded the Sash of Honor, the Shield of Leading Woman of the Year 2025, and the Certificate of Distinguished Leading Woman of the Year.

The celebration also included a presentation of several new books, further contributing to the acknowledgment of women's achievements and leadership in Libyan society.
