Kuala lumpur: Libyan contestant Najwa Ali Zidan Al-Korbo has achieved a remarkable feat by securing third place in the female Quran memorization category at the 2025 Malaysia International Quran Competition, achieving an impressive score of 95.51%.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Libyan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur announced on its official page that the competition took place from August 2 to 9, with participation from 71 male and female contestants representing 49 countries, including Libya. The judging panel comprised members from 12 different countries.
The event concluded with a ceremony honoring the top three winners in each category, presided over by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament, the Malaysian Minister of Religious Affairs, the Head of the Malaysian Islamic Affairs Department, the Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, and various heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Malaysia.
Bani Walid Municipal Council also extended its congratulations to student Najwa Ali Zaydan Al-Kurbo for her achievement, recognizing her for this Quranic accomplishment on a global stage.
