Libyan-Italian Committee Hosts Workshop on Search and Rescue Efforts

Tripoli: The Libyan-Italian Committee for Military Cooperation organized a workshop titled “Towards Activating Search and Rescue Efforts” as part of efforts to rebuild and organize the Search and Rescue Coordination Center under the Air Force Chief of Staff. The workshop saw the attendance of the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohamed Al-Haddad.

According to Libyan News Agency, the workshop, held on Monday, aimed to enhance joint cooperation between Libyan and Italian officials in the areas of support and training. It focused on unifying efforts to reorganize the Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the Air Force. The event included the presentation of working papers and discussions on plans to activate the “Command and Control Center” related to the Libyan Air Force’s Search and Rescue Center. This initiative seeks to address risks, aviation accidents, and major crises on land and sea, with support from Italy.

The event was attended by notable figures such as Deputy Chief of Staff Salah Al-Namroush, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Emhemed Qojeel, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defense Gabriel Ishtiwi, and the Military Attach© of the Italian Defense. The media office reported that the workshop concluded with a series of intensive meetings and discussion sessions. The event also involved the exchange of gifts and certificates of appreciation between the Libyan and Italian participants.
