Libyan Government Condemns Houthi Drone Attack on Mecca

Tripoli: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity has denounced the Houthi group's attempt to target Mecca with a drone. The Ministry affirmed Libya's rejection of any actions that threaten the holy sites and their religious significance for Muslims globally.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday emphasizing Libya's support for Saudi Arabia. The statement reiterated backing for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect the Two Holy Mosques and ensure the Kingdom's security and stability, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Ministry urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by taking necessary measures to maintain international peace and security. It called for respecting the sanctity of holy sites and preventing actions that jeopardize regional security and stability.
