Tripoli: The Council for Research and Sharia Studies at the Libyan Fatwa House has announced that Thursday will mark the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Council stated on Tuesday evening that Wednesday would be the last day of Sha'ban. This conclusion was reached after reviewing reports from courts tasked with receiving moon sighting testimonies and the findings from observatories and astronomical telescopes associated with the Fatwa House. The crescent moon was not sighted, leading to the declaration.

The Council extended its congratulations to the Libyan people and the wider Muslim community on the commencement of Ramadan. It expressed prayers for God Almighty to accept the fasting and prayers of all Muslims, and wished for security, victory, and empowerment throughout the blessed month.
