Libyan-European Meeting On Logistical Support To Boost Border And Maritime Security.

Tripoli, A meeting was convened at the Foreign and International Cooperation Ministry by Libyan and EU representatives, to discuss support for border and maritime security management, and rescue and anti-trafficking bodies.

The meeting was attended, on the Libyan side, by representatives of the Coast Guard, the National Team for Border Security and Management, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Transport and Interior, and the Customs Authority, and on the European side by Deputy Head of the EU Border Assistance Mission ‘EUBAM’.

The meeting focused on technical and logistical support for the Libyan side, in addition to proposals put forward by the Libyan side to boost border and maritime security.

The completion of the communication network project designed to boost border security was dealt with at the meeting, in addition to linking operation rooms to the communication network and rehabilitation and upgrading of the Libyan Maritime Academy and the Search and Rescue Centre.
