Benghazi: In a recent operation, the Libyan Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency deported a total of 136 undocumented migrants back to their home countries. This enforcement action involved 26 Egyptian nationals and 110 Bangladeshi nationals who were found in violation of immigration laws.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Shahat branch of the agency facilitated the deportation of the Egyptian migrants through the Amseid border crossing. This was carried out in line with established legal procedures, underscoring the agency's commitment to managing immigration effectively.
The Derna branch of the agency played a key role in the deportation of the Bangladeshi migrants. These individuals were intercepted while attempting to cross the Libyan coast illegally. Among them were people with outstanding security restrictions, highlighting the broader security concerns associated with illegal immigration.
Both groups of migrants were transferred to the Benghazi branch of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency. This step was necessary to finalize the deportation process, which aligns with the agency's broader mandate to combat illegal immigration and bolster public security.
