Benghazi: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, and the Prime Minister-designate of the House, Osama Hamad, received the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Belarus, Vadim Ipatov, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich, along with their official delegation, at the House headquarters in Benghazi.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fawzi al-Nuwairi, the Head of the House of Representatives’ Bureau, Abdullah al-Masri, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdulhadi al-Hawij. Discussions centered on enhancing and activating bilateral cooperation between Libya and Belarus in key sectors. The meeting aimed to follow up on the implementation of memoranda of understanding signed last March, covering agriculture, industry, education, geological exploration services, and the mining industry.
The discussions also included cooperation in healthcare, focusing on the provision of medicines and medical equipment, as well as training doctors and medical personnel to bolster Libya’s capabilities in this sector. Additionally, both sides emphasized cooperation in natural disaster prevention, highlighting the need for exchanging expertise and joint coordination to tackle environmental and natural challenges affecting both nations.
