Baghdad: Libya participated in the seventh session of the Arab Council for Population and Development, held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on December 3 and 4. The Libyan delegation was led by the Minister of Planning in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Zaidani, who highlighted the significance of the ongoing efforts by the League of Arab States and the Technical Secretariat of the Arab Council for Population and Development in promoting and strengthening joint Arab initiatives in population and development.
According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Zaidani stressed the importance of the meetings in enhancing cooperation among Arab nations to tackle population and development challenges that necessitate collective efforts to achieve shared objectives. He expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Iraq for its hospitality and organization of the session, highlighting that Iraq provided an environment conducive to agreements and discussions among the participating delegations.
Iraq is leading the seventh session of the Council, which included participation from official delegations of several Arab countries. During the meetings, participants reviewed key population and development issues in the region and explored ways to boost collaboration among Arab states in this crucial sector.
